Temporal Echo - Sharon Roberts
Exhibition Details
'Temporal Echo - an immersive response to place and time' is an exhibition by Queensland artist Sharon Roberts, showing during March 2025 at The Poatina Tree Art Gallery, Poatina, Tasmania, Australia.
Known for her lyrical, multilayered paintings and nuanced colour, Sharon expresses a contemplative response to place and time. Working primarily in paint, her diverse body of work includes poetry, photography and physical expression. Her places and process are metaphors for a spiritual journey and inspired by the natural world.
A sketch near a lagoon in outback Queensland, and a limited palette of paints carried five thousand kilometres as part of her 'studio in a box, marked the beginning of Temporal Echo.
“When I paused, lingered and drew, I had no intent or plan for a further direction – just noticing and drawing in that moment; at that place. I also photographed, made sound recordings, and did a lot of quiet watching and listening.”
On returning to her studio the work continued to expand into the current exhibition.
'Temporal Echo' comprises painting, photography, poetry and sound created in response to a particular place and time. Sharon will be present at the gallery for an Artist Talk and the Official Opening at 2 pm on Sunday March 2, 2025.

Congratulations Sharon. The seven tiny ‘hints’ on the flyer look amazing. So much variety with a limited palette.
